APNIC 62 brings the regional internet governance community to Mumbai, with support from the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) as local host and the Internet Service Providers Association of India (ISPAI) as co-host. The event spans multiple days of technical content, professional development and policy deliberation.

Program highlights

The conference agenda encompasses three technical sessions alongside two FIRST/APNIC security sessions, an IPv6 deployment track, and a Community Consultation on Increasing Diversity in Community Leadership. Attendees can also join two Birds of a Feather (BoF) sessions and Special Interest Group meetings, with hands-on tutorials available in KINDNS and DNSSEC as well as Suricata for ISP/IXP Threat Detection.

The Opening Ceremony features two keynote presentations. Amajit Gupta, Group CEO and Managing Director of Lightstorm, will address 'The autonomous grid: Driving zero-touch network operations with smart networks'. Yukako Uchida, Manager of Global Coordination Division at JPCERT/CC and FIRST Board member, will speak on 'Trust as infrastructure: The human side of cybersecurity'.

Grow your professional network

Multiple social events create networking opportunities, including the Opening social, Meet the EC social, and Closing social. Participants can connect with peers throughout the conference and share their experience using #APNIC62 on social media, with a toolkit available to support posts.

First-time attendees and early-career professionals have dedicated programming. The Newcomers welcome and NextGen BoF session titled 'plot your path' helps orient new participants. Regular logistical updates are shared via the APNIC 62 WhatsApp channel for those who join.

Online voting for the Number Resource Organization Number Council (NRO NC) closes Thursday, 10 September 2026 at 14:30 (UTC +5:30). Both APNIC Members and conference attendees meeting voting eligibility criteria can participate.

Participate in the Open Policy Meeting

The Open Policy Meeting (OPM) takes place on 10 September 2026 with seven proposals under discussion. Community members can engage through the Policy SIG mailing list or by attending in person or remotely during the APNIC 62 Policy SIG forum.
