This policy describes what Kernelwire collects when you read the site, and what we do with it. The short version: one first-party cookie to count readers, no advertising trackers, no sale of data. Effective date: 2026-05-01.
What we collect
- Server logs: IP address, user agent and requested pages, kept for 30 days for security and capacity planning.
- Analytics: a single first-party cookie that lets us count unique readers. You can decline it in the cookie notice and the site works identically.
- Newsletter: your email address, if you subscribe, used only to send the briefing.
What we do not do
We do not run third-party advertising trackers, we do not fingerprint devices, we do not sell or share reader data with data brokers, and we do not connect newsletter addresses to reading behavior.
Your choices
Decline the analytics cookie in the notice, unsubscribe from the newsletter with one click in any issue, or write to editor@thekernelwire.com to ask what we hold about you. We answer within 30 days.

Material changes to this policy are announced on this page two weeks before they take effect.
